Kid SmART is an art program designed for school age children to improve or supplement exposure to various mediums and techniques. This will be done through guided projects in hand-building clay, glass fusion, mosaics, and paiting both ceramics and canvas. The program follows the Waukee School District. The program will begin each school day at 2 pm and will last until 6 pm. There will be a snack offered prior to completing the project. There are 3 or 4 project options to choose from each day. These options change from week to week to allow for repeated participation without repetition. Each project takes around 90 minutes.

After the snack, the artist chooses a project card and matching materials pack, complete with materials and patterns needed for the project. The artist with then go to a Kid SmART station, set up with all the required tools. Although assistance is available, we encourage artists to explore their creativity independently.

Some of these projects can be taken home immediately while others may require pick-up in 4 days. Clay hand-building projects require an additinal visit to paint prior to pick-up.

Each class is $20.00 plus tax. A 10 class punch card will also be available for purchase for $150 plus tax, this will save $50 over the course of the classes attended. Kid SmART is offered throughout the school year, with the exclusion of winter and spring breaks. Additional information is available by visiting or contacting the studio.
